Hitting the Broadcast Bullseye for Great Manchester Run

This year’s Great Manchester Run was a broadcast bullseye for GTA, with over 20 pieces of TV and radio coverage secured - testament to our reputation with the media for speed, reliability and storytelling that hits the mark.

We moved fast to build a compelling mix of voices - from sports stars and celebrity ambassadors to community heroes and heartfelt fundraisers - offering media outlets a rich variety of human interest stories and relevant angles.

Momentum kicked off with a week of engaging stories across BBC Radio Manchester, followed by a prime Friday morning slot on BBC Breakfast, featuring Great Run ambassador Eilish McColgan.

Saturday saw BBC Radio Manchester bring the Mini and Junior runs to life with a presenter running live with her kids, before interviewing the Gladiator race starters, and inspirational local young runners.

As race weekend unfolded we hit BBC North West TV screens with feature segments on both the Saturday and Sunday news bulletins. Finishing off with a round up and review of the event on BBC Morning Live on the Monday - showcasing Dr Punam and their team of Counch to 5K runners crossing the finish line.
